It is as if the maker is fired by passions unknown. To create a wonder, a masterpiece to be treasured and prided over. As the mist clears and the Extention emerges, the ingenuity, the sheer artistry is concrete, of this structure crowned by proud minarets becomes evident. And one cannot help but silently applaud the imagination of those who, in the first place, conceptualized this Hercules among buildings.
The miracle worker is Ajoy Choudhury, a former Geo Ponte assistant and the proud creator of architectural marvels like Hotel Taj Bengal, Kolkata, Janakpuri District Centre, New Delhi, and Hotel Mughal Sheraton, Agra. He obtained his degree in architecture and science from the Delhi University. He started his career in an architectural firm in the mid – fifties and finally formed his own studio “Ajoy Chowdhury and Associates” in 1991. In his fifty year long professional career, he has won many competitions such as the Indian Foreign Service Group Housing, H. Q. building for Apparel Export and many others. Architect Chowdhury has broken all the contemporary theories while planning the Sahara Township, Lucknow, spreading over 312 acres.
