| Bengal Tools Limited started its operation in 1966 by establishing design and manufacturing facilities for various kinds of press tools, jigs & fixtures and form tools. In the initial stages our clients were Hindustan Motors Limited, Remington Rand, Philips, Guesttetner, Oriental General Industries and TELCO. Around 1970 Bengal Tools looked for diversification and identified defence as a prospective client. Bengal Tools's break-through came from an order for Mobile Corrosive Acid Handling Plant. It was quickly followed up Concertina for Border Fencing, Portable Chain Saw and Portable Wood Borear. By mid 1970's Bengal Tools struck a technical collaboration with Tempered Tools of Sheffield for manufacture of shear blades. This product of Bengal Tools is well accepted by customers like major steel plants, paper mills and a host of general engineering industries. As the above production stabilized and organization further strengthened, Bengal Tools realized that it had room for new products. Air Pre-Heater Basket was developed and supplied to Renusagar Power Plant. This product was successfully designed and developed & since 1976 Bengal Tools has been supplying Air Pre-heater Baskets to all major Indian Thermal Power Plants and Captive Power Plants belonging to Steel Plants.
