It would be important to understand where Bengal Tools Limited comes from to comprehend where it is headed. The Company went into business in the Sixties through the manufacture of tools, dies, jigs and fixtures to address the growing opportunities in eastern India, then the hub of India's engineering sector. By the Seventies, the Company had extended to the manufacture of industrial knives and shearing blades to replace the legacy application of gas cutting, enhancing the precision of applications in the country's railways, Defence, paper, plywood and ordnance sectors.Concurrently, a growing supply to the country's ordnance sector resulted in the Company seeking DRDO certification and indigenizing imports through the manufacture of field engineering equipments like mat ground surfacing, mechanical mine layers, portable shelters and asphalt track ways through a highly specialized and competent design team.A few years later, the Company leveraged this rich engineering insight and extended to the design, engineering,manufacturing, supply, erection and commissioning of the bulk material handling conveyor system to progressively replace the proportion of labour with appropriate mechanization leading to lower costs and enhanced mine safety. Foreseeing encouraging opportunities in other business segments, the Company forayed into the lucrative agri-equipment business as well as the ship construction and repair business in the following years. By combining its resident knowledge of material transportation for the coke manufacturing industry and engineering knowledge, the Company entered a new business in 2007 - coal and chemical management, which enabled downstream coke manufacturers to segregate and market precious waste gases derived as by-products from the coke manufacturing process. Moreover, the Company leveraged its rich industry insight and embarked on the manufacture of niche thermal power plant accessories, riding the attractive growth arising from this industry segment. A company that entered one business space in 1965 is present across six business spaces in 2010. Besides, the Company acquired the erstwhile unit of APV Texmaco (now Bengal Tools Ltd) focusing more on turnkey responsibilities. In doing so, a company that started off as a modest engineering manufacturing unit in the mid Sixties, has evolved into a specialized engineering solutions provider, leveraging its near-fifty year engineering expertise. During this long journey of over four decades, the Company has emerged as a respected light-to-medium engineering organisation engaged in the turnkey management of material handling and coal-chemical projects on the one hand as well as a company evolving from a principal focus on jobbing to a growing proportion of turnkey projects management, on the other. Going ahead, we expect to graduate from jobbing and turnkey projects to EPC assignments, enhancing our contract sizes, strengthening our brand and emerging as one of the fastest-growing engineering companies in India.

Mr. Suvra Sengupta - Director (Projects), having done his B.E in Mechanical engineering, is an ex-deputy general manager of Vinas Systems Pvt. Ltd, an ex-senior design engineer of Tata Davy Ltd. and ex-assistant Chief Design Engineer of Texmaco Ltd. Riding 40 years of experience, Mr. Sengupta has helped the Company grow by emphasising the development of resources related to design, planning, procurement, quality control and assurance, construction and erection, testing and commissioning while drawing upon specialist fabricators and machine shops for manufacturing support.

Mr. Pravin Kumar - Director (Coal and chemical division) Post-Independence, the country witnessed a wave of industry establishment in the field of iron and steel. It was during this time that CCD was established and gradually emerged as a reputed supplier of equipment related to chemical plants. Under his guidance, the Company contributes towards consultancy, design and engineering services in relevant areas specializing in turnkey projects.

Mr. Vinay Kejriwal - Vice President (Finance) is a qualified Chartered Accountant and based on his 10 years of financial experience in the industry, he has not only helped the Company strike attractive deals with prestigious clients, but also helped in optimal fund management for the timely execution of critical turnkey projects. Besides under his initiative the Company leveraged Information Technology in a big way during the current financial year. The introduction of SAP will bring about efficiency leading to better control across various managerial functions apart from improving manpower utilization.

Mr. Madhu Sudan Sarkar - He joined BENGAL TOOLS LTD as Technical Director (Marine Division) on 19th Jan 2004. He worked in the Drawing Office of various Shipyards and Consultants Offices in England from 1967 to 1973. Then returned to Kolkata and worked at various capacities in GRSE from Asst. Naval Architect to General Manager (Hull fabrication). He has experience in Ships Hull Fabrications, Erection, Ships Out Fitting, Trial, Commissioning and Guarantee Refits as well as in Shipyard's Capacity Assessment in collaboration with overseas consultancy agency. He worked with overall charge of office administration in executive capacity for Ship Construction both from organized sector and also from private areas. He can handle from order negotiation to delivery of all kinds of surface ships including planning and execution.

Mr. Baidya Nath Das - He joined BENGAL TOOLS LTD in 1988 as an Asst. Sales Manager and got promoted as General Manager (Sales) w.e.f 1.10.1999. He worked with Saber Tools Ltd as a Commercial Head from 1985-1983. He has an experience in selling Circular Cold Saw Segment to various Industries like TELCO, TISCO & Factories under DGOF from 1983-1985. He worked with Hada Tools as Regional Sales Manager from 1974-1983.

Mr. Subhasis Gupta - He joined Bengal Tools Ltd as Manager (Planning, Production & Maintenance) on March 2, 2006 and was promoted to General Manager - Works w.e.f April 1, 2010. He worked with Schefields Ltd as Asst.Manager Quality Control from Sept'2001-Mar'2006, with Germinda Pvt.Ltd as Executive Quality Control from Dec'97 - Sept'2001, with ESBI Hiflex Pvt. Ltd as Application Engineer (Operations) from Dec'94 - Dec'97 and with OIL RITE as Engineering Assistant from April'93 -Nov'94.

Mr. Jyoti Prakash Mitra - He joined Bengal Tools Ltd as Sr.Vice President - Project on April 24, 2010. Previously he worked as General Manager-Projects with Rourkela Steel Plant and 38 years with Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL).

Mr. Partha Pratim Mitra - He joined Bengal Tools Ltd as Vice President - Project Construction on October 2, 2010. Before, he worked as Sr Vice President with TECHNOFAB and POSCO from Aug'2003 -Sep'2010, with IISCO as Asst.General Manager I/C from April'1999- Aug'2003, with SAIL as Sr.Manager in Project Marketing from April 1, 1991 - April 15, 1999 and with IISCO, Burnpur from Jan 8, 1973 - March 1991, where he joined as Trainee Officer and lastly designated as Maintenance Engineer.

Mr. Prabhakar Chakraborty - He joined Bengal Tools Ltd as Engineering Apprentice in 1967. Presently holding the post of General Manager-Technical.

Mr. Sukumar Rudra - He joined Bengal Tools in 1998. Presently he is the Vice President (Marketing). He was the "Head" of Bengal Tools Ltd (Agro Division) from 1996-1998. He had also worked with Bird & Co, Process Engg Div for 22 years and with Texmaco for 7 years.
